Hello.
So today I was listening to music from my Z5 after the gym, everything's going great. Then after I finished I pulled the headphones out the jack like normal and it's somehow got stuck in a loop almost like im constantly pluging it in and pulling it out. The screen becomes very unresponsive and it becomes very hot as it's constantly loading and closing my music player, and the music starts/stops/stutters playing out the phones speakers.
Like I say it's acting as if I'm constantly plugging headphones in & out but I cant do anything because the screen is simply unusable, if I plug the headphones back in it just goes back to normal! I restarted the phone but the behavour continues when it starts up and I remove the headphones again. It's so annoying.
It's done this before, too. About a week after I got it but that time I didn't even have the headphones in, I ran cold water over the screen to clean it so I thought the water had somehow effected it (Despite it being waterproof) and after a while it just magically stopped doing it on it's own, and now it's just randomly started doing it again.
I don't want to have to send this back because I don't have another phone I can use.
These Sony phones are unreliable, I think I may get a Samsung when my contract is up because I had a Z2 I had to send back, too.
Does anybody have any clue why it's doing this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hi @aHumanError,
Welcome to the community.
Based on the information you have provided it sounds like there is either moisture or debris in the headphone jack that is completing the circuit, causing your device to think there are headphones connected.
I recommend giving your device a bit of a shake to try to remove any excess water, and taking a look at the care instructions here: http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperiaz5/dm/water-and-dust-resistance/
If it is free from moisture, look for dust or debris. A great way to clean this out is with a can of compressed air designed for use on electronics. (please make sure you do not use high pressure compressed air)
