Z3v Voice and Data

So far neither verizon or Sony can tell me when my phone will be able to use data while on a voice call. I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with verizon in regards to not being able to use voice and data at the same time. They told me it needs to support Advance Calling 1.0(a verizon specific feature allowing voice calls on GSM data). When I asked when it will be updated they pointed me towards Sony saying they will create and push the update. Please, someone, Sony or verizon, fix this so I can use data and voice simultaneously.

Someone can correct me if I'm mistaken, but although Sony can create, work on and release updates, it maybe ultimate up to the carrier, in this case Verizon, to make them available to you.

However, you could contact Sony Xperia support in regards to the advance calling and see if they could provide you with some information.

I have, they couldn't get me any information about it and pointed me back at verizon. I'm trying to do anything to escalate this problem till it gets fixed.

That's a network restriction not a phone restriction, Verizon is a CDMA network, and can't handle voice and data at the same time, just like Sprint. AT&T and T-mobile do support data and voice at the same time. Again, this is NOT a Sony issue.

You have 2 options, 1 hardly unlikely that Verizon switch to GSM WCDMA network or for you to switch to AT&T or T-mobile, those are the only issues, just a reminder, this is NOT a Sony NOR a phone issue.

What about Advanced Calling 1.0?

I'm not familiar with that, but again, this is a network issue/restriction not a phone restriction.

This is m opinion, neither Verizon nor Sprint are ideal for smartphones, but that's my opinion
