A previous post said the issue was resolved and that the root cause of the weak WiFi signal for the Z3 is a firmware issue displaying fewer signal bars though the signal remains unchanged. I beg to differ. Below is a concurrent side by side comparison of my Z3 and my sister's Z3 Compact. You can clearly see that the Z3 (right) picks up a weaker signal versus the Z3 Compact.
I'm not sure if the difference is due to manufacturing or use of materials, or due to a firmware update, but there's a measurable difference between the two, not just the signal bars.
