My phone got water damaged and Vodacom is telling me that according to their warranty if water is found in the device the warranty is void. they are not telling me which tests were done to prove negligence as the phone is water proof and using it under water is not negligence.
A lot of sellers and distributors do not include water damage in their warranty, can you check your warranty certificate or agreements if they state anything about it?
In all cases, you need to contact your Local support and ask for feedback from them, as this is a user based forum and we might not be able to help you get more details.
one way to check for water damage is to look for the white stripe inside the flap.,. if it turned to red it has been water damaged. can you confirm yours is still white? can you request a vacuum test in your local service center?
My phone is currently at the service center, so wont be able to check but I sent it in the first time cause it would not boot then a week after they returned it saying the software was faulty and the phone was repaird. On collection the touch screen was not working so they sent it back to the repair center now they say I have to pay cause its water damaged.
