Z3 Dual question

Hello,

I just bought a Z3 for my wife using it in Canada. She has a rogers sim as her main and another international sim only for receiving calls.

The problem is I cant activate LTE on the main one because when I do the other sim cannot find except one network and it cant even connect to it. 

The only way for both to work is to set the main to GSM only and the second to WCDMA, but in this case the internet is very slow because it only works on edge.

Is there a way to around this?

Yes it is.

LTE works when I select LTE(preferred)/WCDMA/GSM option for SIM1, but in that case SIM2 cannot find any networks to join.

To fix it, I have to change SIM1 to GSM only and have SIM2 as the LTE(preferred)/WCDMA/GSM one. But in this case SIM1 has edge data speed. 

My problem is that i need SIM1 to use data (LTE) and SIM2 to only receive calls.

So to sum it up:

When SIM1 is LTE(preferred)/WCDMA/GSM, SIM1 is working fine but SIM2 cannot find a network to join.

When SIM1 is GSM only, SIM1 has edge speed and SIM2 is now working fine as LTE(preferred)/WCDMA/GSM (Data disabled though)

What i need is for SIM1 to be LTE enabled and SIM2 to work just to receive calls.

From what you are describing, the second SIM (operator or subscription) doesn't support GSM. Some operators only supports WCDMA/LTE.

When the first SIM is set to WCDMA/LTE the second can only use GSM.

The only solution is to contact the operator of the second SIM to see if you can get access to GSM or switch to another operator that can. Some operators (for example Hutch in my country) doesn't have any GSM network.

Your phone supports the following network combinations:

- One LTE network and one GSM network
- One WCDMA network and one GSM network
- Two GSM networks

The network you find on the second SIM when the first SIM is set to LTE/WCDMA is probably another operators network since you can't connect to it. Also, if you only find one GSM-network available for the second SIM i suspect that operator is your only option in your area unless the current operator of the second SIM can arrange with roaming to that network for you.

Yeah, let's hope they can. Many operators have roaming to other networks but you may need to contact the operator to have it enabled in the subscription.

Anothe question since you are here if you do not mind.

Any idea why Back up and sync for xperia keyboard would not sign in? Everytime I try to enable it it says "could not sign in".

I am using a Z3 dual and Z3 compact and getting the same error.
