Z3 Delete key issue?

After a recent dictionary update that simply wouldn't go away until I'd agreed to down load it, now when I've typing a text, email, message or pretty much anything, if I delete words or use the x key at all it starts to add random.letters full stops, remove words and generally **bleep** me right off and makes any typing a nightmare!!
I've tried clearing the data, all that did was turn my key board to Chinese and the problem still persists.
Please, before I smash the phone can someone help???

What if you clear the data on the keyboard app (settings > apps > all > keyboard) then restart the phone

I've done that, as per the statement above... Does nothing other than change my keyboard nationality.
The only other issue I've had that kind of seemed to be related was that the back key stopped going back on Web pages and stated opening up Google.
I got a Sony phone to avoid all the rip off updates that kill iPhone to con you into upgrading...
Now I'm in the same boat, update and then phone doesn't work properly.
It's about time these manufacturers started getting prosecuted for these skams!!!
Phones only a few months old.

Does your phone have a protective film? protective case?

Do you experience the same with other keyboards?

I do have a case, which is open fronted, also have a screen protector on... Now other buttons cause any issue, just the delete "x" key once it's been used.
Had no issue at all until that dictionary update.
I'm not one that alters settings or messes about with defaults on things that work out of the box.

if that was my phone I would try this

remove the film protector and check again, also if you use the keyboard rotate the phone on multiple directions to see if you experience the same issue with that letter. try

holding the phone on portrait then rotate it landscape to the left then rotate landscape to the right

How would I go about deleting the update, it was downloaded and applied?

Settings > apps > all > look for the app > uninstall updates

No such option... Infact no apps show details of any updates, just the version currently installed.
