Hi. I have a Z3 Compact which I own for only less than a year now. 3 months in my very careful hands, I began to experience the curse. I tried to wash it (not submerged, just ran it through the faucet) and water got in even though all flaps were closed. It over heats thereafter, and screen sometimes not working, charging fails and I thought battery was damaged due to short circuit. I brought it to Sony center and after a month I got the fixed unit (not replaced with a new one, they just replaced the motherboard, battery was not even replaced with a new one). Anyways, I don't try to get it near water since I got it back. But after using it for a few more months, the magnetic charger stopped working and the glue on the magnetic charger doesn't hold anymore. The magnetic charger strip is coming out, I just need to push it back inside everytime it comes out.
And the headphone is a hit and miss, sometimes it stops working and I need to stir the headphone pin inside it until it works again, like how you clean your ear with an earbud.
Although it's still under warranty, I'm thinking of getting a new Z5 Compact instead. I don't want to switch to other brands since the comfort of the compact size is something I really want for a phone. And the triluminos display is something only Xperia has. Do you think Z5 Compact is a better quality build-wise than the Z3 Compact? Or should I wait until Xperia phones are no longer made in China?
