I have an issue,
I bought a z3 compact an was happy with the phone.
Altough I already from the beginnig had som thin vertical lines to the left of the display from the beginning, not all the time and it usually disappeared when u locked the phone and unlocked, so I thought it was software issue.
Well it was not, 2 weeks later a small crack came up from the corner where the lines were..
Ok I thought it was no problem so I sent it to service center since i had ZAGG glass on screen + a leather cover that covered both sides. NEVER been dropped or squeezed.
There is NOT ONE scratch or dent on the phone.
Sony says that its my fault and I have broken it myself, and I have tried and tried multiple times to explain but they WONT listen. I thought when the phone is in mint condition this was going to be easy but no.
I also have an picture of the screen with the lines before it even cracked so that proves my point, Sony has no proof that I have broken the phone.
The only explanation I get was "It doesnt look like a factory defect" .. Well.. everything is not always what it looks like right?
I understand if the phone had some dent or scratch they could jump to conclusions but no.
Help! What can I do? Replacing screen will cost almost as much as a new phone..
Oh my god
My next phone will not be a Sony. Thats for sure.
I'm sorry to hear that but the phone can't crack on its own, if you post a picture I'm sure someone will be able to see the point of impact.
I Promise you,
not A single dent on the phone since it has been in a thick leathercover since new, never used before.
Here is pictures, and also a picture of the lines in the display before crack.

I can't really see the crack, could you remove the protective film?
Well you cant because its the LCD-screen that is cracked not the outer glass..
So the LCD it's cracked not the Digitizer? ok, there's nothing we can do for you here, you have to contact your local Xperia support, perhaps you dropped the phone, even if the phone has a protective case, it doesn't guarantee that will prevent any damage if dropped.
Ok so yesterday my Z3 fell down from my hand at my home on the floor from height of almost 200cm.
Luckily nothing happened to it though it had a simple back cover on it.No dents, scratc, crack or anything.
Even though it landed on front display.
I immediately accessed sonys inbuilt service menu and did all tests and all passed smoothly as well. Call quality is same, music is sounding good and touch is alo perfect.
What more shall I check??
I want to know how much falls and how much damage can Z3 compact sustain??
As just a few days back my uncles Z3 fell down on road while he was talking though he was standing still and the phones display cracked a bit and the whole display was unresponsive except for the bottom buttoms: menu/cancel/home.
