Z3 Compact calls list and sms loading slowly

Hi I have a Z3 compact D5803 that I have updated to 5.0.2. 

Ever since then when i open the dialer (phone) it takes a few minutes to load all the recent call list and the dialer is unresponsive.

The same happens when opening the sms messages. 

I have done a reset and reinstall and waited 7 days and the delays still persist.

Any ideas what I can do?

That's probably an app acting up (third party app) boot on safe mode and check again

I tried this now - It still took 3.5 min to poplulate the recent call list and the dialer was unresponsive. The SMS list did populate imadiatly on opening.

I wonder what could be delaying it? Perhaps it is related to the number of contact records?

Do you have a LOT of sms? or call logs? 

Back up all your SMS, MMS and Call logs, perhaps sync them with google (check the link bellow) and then empty the messaging app > restart the phone

Check your contact list. I just discovered that the LinkedIn intregration feature somehow managed to mutliple its contacts dozens of times resulting in a thousands long contacts list. This affected every app where contacts are relevant, call log, messages, hangouts, etc. I disabled LinkedIn sync and now things are back to normal.
