Hello,
For the past couple of weeks I've started to have problems with the alarm on my Z1c (v. 4.4.4).
Actually, occasionally during the day the phone will simply go black. It's not off, because the notification light still blinks. But the power button does not respond and the screen stays black. The only way to bring it back is to do a soft reset (power button + volume up for 3 seconds) and turn it back on.
This is pretty annoying and probably happens about 2-3 times per day. However, I've recently been having a problem with the alarm as well. It seems to be random and happens with about 60 or 70% of the alarms I set. It seems to happen with many different factors: when the phone is plugged in and when it isn't, airplane mode on/off, stamina mode on/off. Basically I'll wake up and the phone will be in the black mode for which I need to do a soft reset.
Does anyone else have this problem and what can I do to resolve it?
Thanks!
Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
Have you tried to boot your phone into safe mode? Otherwise, I suggest that you boot your phone into safe mode to see if you expeirence the same behaviour:

Thank you for your reply. I tried, and although the phone does not have very much functionality in safe mode, it still did a black cycle once over the course of the day today. Which is less than the average, however, what does this behavior say about the phone in safe mode? And when is it ok to take it out of safe mode?
Thank you!
When you boot the phone into safe mode, it will inactivate all your third party apps to exclude problems related to them. But if you still experience issues in safe mode, you might want to perform a software repair on your phone via PC Companion:
http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/pc-companion/
In PC Companion you press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Repair phone/tablet (the blue clickable link in the message) > Follow these steps without having your device connected to the PC.
Follow the instruction that appears in the program and do not connect your device until this guide tells you how to connect it.
