Hi All

MY Z1 is 3 weeks old and i have recently been experiencing an issue wit the touch screen

it is more apparent on playing games but there is a delay between toching the screen and it responding

when i first got the phone i downloaded hill climb racing and all was well, plenty of time spent playing and having fun

then, for no apparent reason this lag started

So i updated the phone via pc , no better

Then i tried a full restart except keeping my files in the memory (pics and docs/videos )

Still no luck

there is no screen protector on and i am finding it hard to play any games as they all have this issue, it seems to slightly apparent on regular use of the phone especially using stuff like msgs and FB

I am about to apply the latest update to see if that help

Also the battery life is atrocious, it wont last a day of regular use even with all the saving features turned on

I came from an IPHONE4 to this and while i LOVE my Z1 these niggles need to be sorted !

That seems to be a game/app issue, it has to be addressed by the app/game developer not Sony.

But this app and other were working fine on the a brand new phone a few weeks ago.

The chronology went a bit like this

Get new Z1 .. charge and switch on after installing sim

sign into new google acc created on startup of Z1

Download 3 games from play store
hill climb, downhill mtb and downhill mtb spooky version

play games and Swoon over awesome graphics and speed of shiny new phone for 5 days

day 6 ish, learn more about phone

update all built in apps and stuff via wifi, read about PC prgram and install that on PC

touch screen starts messing about around this time

update phone via pc about this time, but not sure if after or before updates etc

Stop worrying about it for a bit and get on with life

start playing games again and get annoyed at touchcreen lag, also start to notice it on txt messaging screen and web pages and FB

Reboot phone as said previously keeping pics and vids etc

post on this forum as none of this has worked 🙂

Also (off topic)

the Anti Shatter Coating on my phone has 2 scratches on it

Can i get it changed ? can i take it off and replace it with a screen protector ?

The Xperia Z1 has an ASF (anti shatter film) pre-installed, this film has the Sony logo and should NOT be removed, if you do remove it

1. The Sony logo will come off

2. It will void the screen warranty

3. Its not sold separately

You should apply a scratch resistant film on top of the ASF as the ASF its not scratch resistant

Do you have an antivirus or taskiller that could create this issue.

i got stressed with the supplied film after 3 attempts of fitting and threw it in the bin.... silly me

off to sony shop at the weekend to see what can be done i guess

Ah ! i do have an anti virus called AVL ... let me un install it

If you want to replace the ASF you will have to replace the digitizer and that will cost you quite a bit of money, I don't think that's worth it, just apply a screen pretector on top, that might hide the scratches
