z1 problems

I have purchased xperia z1 a while ago. I never had so many problems as with this phone. It freezes quite often but it's easily fixable by turning the phone off by the red switch off button (normal switch off doesnt work). But my main problem which is killing me is that for the past months keyboard is broke, some letter (not always but very often) don't work, eg I press "k" but "a" shows up. Some times when I press a letter a random worD shows up. "some rimes we hen I press a let r er a random word shows up." I just re written last sentence without ccorrecting errors made my xperia to show what I mean. It's making me furious all the time, this was with out a doubt the worst phone I ever had, unless there is a fix, is anyone one aware of such problem or fix?

Hi dhdufjshfjdhs, welcome to the community!

Something very likely to resolve this issue is a process called a software repair. To do a software repair you just need access to a computer with an internet connection. You will firstly need to download PC Companion or Bridge for Mac. Once installed, you can do a back up of your data as this process will delete all user data. (Please note that exactly what contents will be backed up may differ depending on phone model). To backup using Bridge for Mac just select Back up your Xperia device on the pain page of the program & follow the on screen instructions. To backup on PC Companion, select Start under Backup & Restore & follow those on screen instructions.

To run the software repair on PC Companion:

1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
2. Phone Software Update.
3. Start.
4. Repair Phone
5. Continue
6. Accept data removal
7. Next
8. Wait for prepare
9. Select Phone
10. Follow the connection steps

To run the software repair on Bridge for Mac:

1. Launch Bridge for MAC without the handset connected.
2. On the Main Window select "Xperia > Repair Xperia
Device".
3. Ensure the phone is charged and select "Ok" in the
following window.
4. Select Continue on the following page.
5. Wait until the initialising step is finished the
continue as below.
6 . Select your model of phone from the list that appears
7. Follow the connection steps that appear, ensuring that
you are holding the relevant button down before during and
after the connection phase until the update/repair begins.

I hope this helps, keep us updated.
