Z1 compact touchscreen unresponsive and security issues

My touchscreen is totally unresponsive and im locked out of my phone as i cant open it. Also cant turn it off  is there anyway of getting pictures of my phone when it is locked like this as I have new pictures since the last update? and I have a text message  on my phone that i want to read and is very important but alas cant, is there anyway of reading it?

You can try to make a force shut down of the phone and start it again to see if the touch screen will respond again.

If the touch still doesn't work you could connect a computer mouse to the phone by using a USB OTG cable. Then you should be able to unlock the phone and read the text message.
