Z1 Compact keyboard

I have had a Z1 compact for a few weeks now, and the only gripe is the keyboard. It seems that most of the time when I touch the space bar, the screen thinks I touch the full stop/period key, and inserts one, and starts the next word with a capital letter, meaning I have to go back, delete three characters, and retype.

is there a fix for this? I seem to have the latest software...

can I install an alternative keyboard?

That only happen if you press the spacebar twice

You can disable that settings 

settings > language & input > xperia keyboard settings > personalization > opt out

thanks! see why you're a forum legend....personalised the full stop and comma keys off the main keyboard and into symbols.

I use the suggestions a lot. Usually the list has the word I want (sometimes without me typing anything, just from context. But sometimes all the suggestions have the first letter capitalized and I want to select one but without the capital letter. Is there an easy way to do that?
