Hello! 

How to connect Xperia Z1 Compact as USB modem with my Macbook air MD760?

I've checked the box "USB tethering" in phone settings. But I don't have an internet connection on my mac.

As far as I know this will not work as standard since Mac does not support drivers for this function as standard. But you'll might be able to download separately drivers for this function on your Mac. Make a Google search on "HoRNDIS" for example and hopefully you will get further information.

Otherwise, you can setup your phone as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot. Check the following link under the headline "To use your device as a portable Wi-Fi® hotspot":
