Z Ultra Screen so fragile

Why my Xperia Z Ultra glass is not as tough as said? It didn't have to get fall or hit it with hammer to make it crack. 
This is happened just 2 weeks after I bought my Z Ultra. 

When I come home, I put my ultra in my pocket, then I sit in motorcycle. When I arrived at home, I check my Ultra and then suddenly I found it get cracked in screen. I found not even single scratch in casing, but the screen got crack. The crack is so thin that I couldn't feel the crack with my hand. And the worst is, the touchscreen suddenly not working!

So, my warning to all Z Ultra owner, do not ever put your ultra in your pants pocket.

I have the same problem. The screen on my new Xperia Z Ultra cracked while in normal use, for no reason!

It seems obvious after reading so many similar experciences from other users that the phone has a faulty design and as such should be covered by manufacturers warranty. Knowing Sony's lack of support this is very unlikely. After waiting for 6 weeks(!) for the service center diagnosis I was asked to pay more than a half price of a new phone to have the screen replaced! Like it was my fault!

A bit of advise for everybody: DO NOT buy Sony if you want avoid multiple problems. They fell far behind other phone manufactureres with their products not mentioning horrible warranty service (which they do not offer anyway)

Hmm,good and also worrying questions raised in the last 2 posts-i bought my ultra in the UK from a seller on amazon,because the Sony mobile site price was £550 pounds,on amazon sub £400,but the worry is,do I have a Sony warranty?I really don't know,I've registered the fact I purchased it with Sony,but does that count/matter?Again,I don't know.Given that more and more phones are being marketed as 'worldwide' models,does that follow we all have an universal warranty irrespective of the point of purchase,some reassurance from Sony would be REALLY good at this point.

Hello, I would like to know if someone do the repair at an authorized Sony Centre for the touch screen broken (not LCD) if so, how has cost you for repairs? It is possible to change only the Touch Screen or it also changes the LCD screen? Thank you very much!

Thats it Folks sony wont replace my screen under warranty.. they charge me more than half of its new price. 

So I take back my phone from sony center and take it for repair elsewhere since I refuse another ripoff from sony..

and I will Never again buy sony products..

hello, how you ask the repair center to repair the phone? the LCD screen is broken too? or it is only the touch glass?

Nope the LCD is not broken only the glass in front have hairline crack, but the touch screen is not working..

I asked them to fixed the phone under warranty since I dont drop or bump the phone in anyway and they refuse and charge me around 350 $$ instead..

it's a joke ?? lol lol lol I was hoping that does not exceed $ 250! it is a calamity the screens of mobile! so expensive and yet so fragile. 

Can we make the change only touch glass, when the LCD screen is intact?

update news, I repaired the phone but not in the sony service center, one day finish, half the price on SSC,

Warranty gone? well since sony wont respect the waranty anyway then the point is mute..

Also same problem with Z ultra and whats the point in even replacing the screen with no warranty that it wont happen again. 13000 bht for a new screen. Certainly wont be buying sony again.

I applied a temperd glass screen protector for all my phone. Which is 9 H harden screen protector. Lower down the risk for phone screen to crack. Beside, using the tempered glass screen protector more responsive to typing and easy to clean up the screen and of cause it have the glass touching feels.
