Hello,
I've got an Xperia L and have the latest firmware installed (15.0.a.2.17). No issues so far except that I've noticed the phone only plays a few seconds of a Live Channel in YouTube then freezes. I've tried with and without the YouTube update.
All other YouTube videos that are played are totally fine. It is just ANY Live Channel in YouTube...it just doesn't work. It'd be nice to know if anyone else is having this problem.

Check if there are any updates for the app, keep in mind that this is up to Google to fix (app developer)
Hello, thanks for replying.
The YouTube application is up to date. I've uninstalled updates and tried the stock YouTube app as well but unfortunately it plays the Live Channel for a few seconds and the audio starts to crackle then video stops.
This does not happen with two Xperia SP phones I own or my Xperia Tablet Z or any other Android device in my household...
Very odd.

That didn't help. If I downgrade to 15.0.A.1.36 then it's fine. Do you have an Xperia L to test with?
I can't be the only one having this problem...unless no one with Xperia L uses Live Channels in YouTube. It is odd that an older firmware works but the latest one causes issues.
It seems that you will have to wait for youtube to address this issue
Well, an update for the YouTube application was just released and the issue remains. I still think the fault lies in Sony's firmware since it doesn't occur in the old firmware.
That doesn't make sense as its up to Android/Google to update and/or fix issues with their apps.
Like I said...if I downgrade to firmware version 15.0.A.1.36 then Live Channels play flawlessly. With stock YouTube or the updated YouTube application from the PlayStore.
Today 15.3.A.0.26 was released and the problem persists. I'm just surprised no one else who owns an Xperia L is at least trying it out and replying to this thread. It'd be nice to know if it just my device not playing nice when playing Live Channels in YouTube with the new firmwares.
