I have an M4 Aqua Dual with Android Lollipop.
Today, I tried using the YouTube app but it failed to show any videos with "there is a problem playing".
I decided to reinstall YouTube, but when I selected Uninstall for it in Play Store, only the updates were uninstalled.
Now the app acutally works. But attempts to update it fail. The update is downloaded but can not be installed. I tried restarting the phone and deleting cache/data for Play Store and Download Manager. This has not helped.
How can I fix the YouTube app on my phone so it updates and works?
@Phy Settings>Storage saoid I have 5.29 GB internal storage available. It also said Apps take up 6.15 GB.
I have run a "transfer to SD card", now 5.67 GB is available and Apps take 6.34 GB (more? why?). I tried installing the YouTube updates but I still got the same issue:
Can't install app. "YouTube" can't be installed. Try again, and if the problem continues, get help troubleshooting. (Error code: -501)
To check if apps install in general I installed a random app (which is a game called Kitten Smooch, because when you don't know what to search for online, you search for cats). It installed successfully and runs.
@Phy tried in safe mode, got the same error message.
Same problem here.
the only thing that works HERE is software repair using PCC.
Once you have uninstalled Youtube updates for what ever reason, it won't reinstall anymore.
