your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network

I have the phone rooted and unlocked, and it seems to not work with t-moblie. "no service selected network (t-mobile) unavailable". I have tried doing all the resets, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Here's a few things worth checking.

Insert another operators SIM card. (Any local operator SIM card)

Still doesn't work, go to the service menu the check SIM lock.

Enter *#*#7378423#*#* in the dialer > Service info > SIM lock.

If the phone is unlocked and still you get no connection to the network the phone IMEI number might be blocked for use due to theft at the operator. To check this contact the network operator.

(I've seen cases of this before)

I contacted Rogers (the original provider) and they told me that I need the original owner to call in. Unfortunately he is not responding on xda... Is there any way to get it unblocked even though it is unlocked? and will anything else need to be done with the phone, or will they unblock it on their end if the original owner calls in? cause i do not see any place to plug in a unlock code, nor do i even see rogers original bootup.

i called t-mobile, and they told me the imei is unblocked... i am so confused... could it be unblocked by t-mobile and yet somehow blocked by rogers?

As I understand network operators uses a global black list to block IMEI numbers, so if a operator adds one IMEI number to the list it should sooner or later be blocked globally as well.

But it's not unlikely that it will take some time to update this list if one operator chooses to unblock the phone.

How did the service menu look? Could you see any network locks?

no network blocks. i called up t-mobile again and they said the imei is not blocked. what would network locks look like in the service menu? i do not see any difference between t-mobile and at&t (and it connects to the latter).

Greetings guy/s,

I'm seriously in need of help, since 2012 my SE Xperia X8 has had this error of: "Your SIM card does not allow connection to this network".... This happened after I took in my phone for repairs cause the security pattern feature became frozen.... This technician told me that he updated my phone's software as the additional change he made. Have tried all different kinds of SIM cards but still the error continues.... What I've noticed about this updated software was that I can access my phone's features without my SIM card inserted, which wasn't the case initially.... How do I fix this annoying error cause I miss my Xperia X8 so much.... Help y'all, please....

Same With Orange on The xperia X10 mini.
Im guessing they are blocking older phones.
