A day or so ago I started to notice a yellow tint on the edges and corners of the screen. I keep it in the official smart cover as well as a padded tablet sleeve, so very confident it is not related to any stress from other items in my bag. Does seem to be getting stronger as the days go on. Could it be a faulty screen or software related?
I have the same problem with tint on the screen. I am from Ukraine, I got an answer from Sony authorised service center in Kiev that this is caused by not appropriate tablet usage. But my tablet is as new and there is no damages.
I knew from the sopping center where I've bought my device and from service center that there are dozens of other users just in Kiev with the same problem, unfortunately they gave up to protect their rights. I have already exchanged for more that 10 letters and phone calls with Sonymobile support in Ukraine, but they are not constructive. I won't recommend Sony for my friends any more.
As I see this problem is very common in Ukraine and Russia and depends on how often do you use a screen, if you are a gamer the yellow tint will appear in 2 month. What is more interesting: before 2015 it was a warranty case, so all "yellow tint" was fixing for free and was acknowledged by Sony as warranty in 2014.
I think it is definitely unfair to claim this manufactured defect as a user fault.
so if you are frome Ukraine, please do not hesitate to contact me - I am going to sue Sony and it would be better to do it collectively.
I too have begun to notice this screen fault. The yellowing at the screen edges is temperature dependant. It begins to appear as the tablet gets warmer. I have my tablet in an official Sony smart cover and have been extremely careful in my handling at all times since I acquired it in August 2014. I suspect it is a problem relating to a manufacturing issue at the screen supplier's plant. Is there any news of a recall by Sony for replacement? Has anyone in UK taken this up with trading standards yet?

I HAVE SENT MY Z2 TABLET TWICE WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD FOR THE YELLOW TINT ON THE EDGE OF THE SCREEN!!!!!!
VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH SONY, THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE A WORLDWIDE PRODUCT RECALL BECAUSE THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE GRAPHICS CHIP.......
I HAVE LOST FAITH IN SONY PRODUCTS AND THEIR AFTER SALES SERVICE FOR SELLING A FAULTY PRODUCT......
ALL OWNERS OF FAULTY SONY TABLETS SHOULD BE COMPENSATED WITH A NEW UPGRADED REPLACEMENT....

Suggest by Sonys deafening lack of response to the design fault that they want us to just ditch the Z2's .... and buy Samsung instead!
I have already bought a Samsung galaxy tab a with S pen to replace my lousy Sony z2 tablet with faulty yellow tinged screen. Sony does not care if they have sold faulty tablets to the world and they will not do a product recall. I will expect my lousy z2 tablet to develop the yellow screen again after my warranty is over and I will never purchase another stupid Sony product ever again.......
My tablet have the same issue.. Bought from Singapore. First on one edge and now on all edges..what is happening? I'm a sony gadget admirer from tablets to Android phone to bluetoothspeaker to components TV to storage media etc.. This is massive failure of parts..hope sony can replace defection our tablets..
I hanged the same problem. The tablet has been in a case and has not been abused. Sony say pressure has been applied on the screen so not covered by warranty. Absolute **bleep**. How did you go with your claim. I am taking mine further
I'm in Malaysia. I had same issue. I called Sony service center told them my tablet issue, they directly accepted my claim without much questions. It took almost 2 months for them to replace tablet screen because waited spare parts from other country. Been using this tablet for 4 months after returned from service center, so far so good, everything work fine with latest lollipop firmware. I'm happy with this tablet and can't wait to get Marshmallow update. Thanks Sony for continues support this tablet.
As I said in another post, I believe the issue may be with the Sony smart cover. If anyone with this issue or the dead pixels problem have the Sony smart cover please say so we can confirm this.
