I am a big time Xperia fan and love the Z4, which I use in Japan, and I am on the z3+ when in Korea....
... But as an Xperia fan I still purchased the Z5, Z5c, XP, etc etc...
My Z5 has seen maybe 3 hours use total and all has been well until I went to go update it to 6.0.1 and realized the screen has gone pink for some reason and seems to get VERY pink and dark during updates (I have done a full repair, reset, erase and re-do, the whole run... Still pink )
what would cause such a failure with such minimal use, handled with white gloves, never dropped?
Any known fixes?
I can "fake" an accurate screen by Messing with the white balance but it's so dark when you do that....
my other Z5 is just fine.
Hi @UGLYDOLL,
If you take a screenshot (while the display is pink) and then send/transfer the screenshot to another device and then open it on the other device, is it still pink?
This might unfortunately be hardware-related and in order to sort it out your device needs to be examined by an authorized service centre. Contact your Local support for information about local warranty and service procedures.
Sony only helps you if your phone is from the territory you are currently visiting or living in, so that won't work.
In other words, you bought your phone abroad, which is consider gray market, hence warranty won't cover this in your country but the country were it was bought from, this is normal, and not just a Sony restriction.
