Xperia z5 Debranding

Hi have just purchased the z5, it has vodafone apps etc and branding. Is there anyway to debrand to stock sony android firmware without causing issues to warranty etc.

Thanks

You could use flashtool, that will remove the preloaded apps/bloatware and branding but it won't unlock the phone to be used with other networks, as far as warranty in some cases it could void the warranty

Hi

Thanks for the reply!

I am not bothered about unlocking as I have already had it officially unlocked by Vodafone.

Now I just require the details to debrand/remove the vodafone branded software.

Ideally I want it stock so when official updates are released it will notify me and update over the air automatically.

Any info on how to use flashtool/do this?

Thanks in advance

Thats why I am setting it to original stock android from Sony. It gets rid of all the horrible logos and new updates are available much quicker.

I have found some more guides so can update once I've succesfully done it.

Sounds good. I'm just a bit worried about losing the warranty

It's really easy, just look for the FTF file on the XDA Forum and follow this guide
