Xperia Z5 compact volume changes on it's own

Since my latest system update, my music volume is doing its own thing. Whilst connected to wired or Bluetooth headphones the volume is going up on its own. I will turn it down, but after about a minute volume goes up again. It will do this about 4 times then remain at the volume I set it at. I wear a Bluetooth headset when I'm on my motorcycle. And it's quite annoying being deafened. The volume controls aren't so easy to access with gloves on

Can you please test your phone in safe mode and see if the same thing is happening?

it does not do it in SM with wired or bluetooth connection

What music and audio enhancement apps do you use?

Xperia default player, no audio enhancments, all off

Go to Settings»Apps»[Settings Cog]»Can Write System Settings

Then temporarily disable the Music app's permissions to Write System settings.

Test it by doing what you normally do when you encounter the problem.

If the volume still changes, then there may be something other than the music app changing the audio level
