Xperia Z3 does nothing.

Hi everyone,

Today, in an unfornunate event, my precious Z3 met the floor. Now, the phone is completely dead. But hopefully, i can make it work again! So here's the situation:

No cracks or anything.

When charging (Wall charger) no red led is visible.

When pressing the VOL UP and Power button, it vibrates Three Short times.

When pressing the Reset (next to the SIM) button, it also vibrates three times.

Can the phone still be saved or, is it dead.. Slightly_frowning_Face

Thanks!

Mmm.. Can be that the USB connector is damaged/detached. It's not the battery because the device vibrate meaning that it's connected. I am sure that is not probably a big problem, but you will need a technician to have a look at it, if it's still in warranty contact you local support.

Hi @karanramp,

Welcome to the community.

I am sorry to hear about this issue with your Z3. It sounds just as YoGem describes to me. I recommend you contact your local support team to arrange a repair.

Unfortunately, There's no technician in my vicinity. I'll have to wait till the weekend.

But found something out. When pressing VOL UP and Power button, and after it vibrates three times, the LED turns red for a brief moment.

And when it's plugged into my laptop, it recognizes the phone for that brief moment..!

After a few seconds, the red led is gone, and the laptop is no longer seeing the phone.. Weird that is?

Found the time to go to a Phone Store, not really a technician. No more warranty on the phone. Bummer. Fixing the phone would be inefficient, as the costs would outwage the worth of the phone. But he couldn't tell me what was wrong and how to fix it myself, as he only knew it would cost a lot(Also because i dropped it myself).

I do have some documents and pics on the phones internal memory, which i'd like to retrieve. Anyone knows a way?

If someone knows a way to fix the Phone or knows a forum or something that could help, can you please let me know?

Thanks a bunch!

@karanramp,

Unfortunately, without being able to turn the phone on, there's no way to retrieve the data from the internal memory Slightly_frowning_Face

Look, I have that gut feeling that you could temporarily repair it with just some soldering skills and that the tech guy just didn't want to work on it (why not telling what's wrong?).

Search for a different tech guy and ask if they can check why the USB is not working properly and if they eventually can fix it temporarily by soldering it to the. Mobo... If that is the issue they can solder it and for cheap, if they can... Then with great care and attention plug the USB cable and perform a backup then... Buy a new phone!

Thanks, good advice.

I went back to that store anyways, but this time i started the conversation a little different. So now he thinks it is the processor. After saying that he fell back to his conclusion saying, it's not worth it bla bla bla and he tried to sell me the Z5 Premium.. Which of course I won't buy yet, because i'm not that rich..

And yes, i found this repairman, who fixes phones for his hobby, He told me he'd take a look at it for free. And he calls me back when he knows whats wrong.. I'll keep y'all posted..!
