The screen does not switch on anymore after a call ended. This happens since the last Android update (5.1.1).
It drives me nuts!!!
aaah ffs, I did know I can test it somewhere just couldn't find it anymore, thx a million.
But I suppose the vibrating alert shouldn't start straight away when I start the test, right?
So the second I click/touch 'Ear proximity' the vibrating alarm starts and never stops again.
Okay, know that I believe to know that the proximity sensor is broken..any ideas how to fix it?
Is there anything blocking the proximity sensor, perhaps a case or film? if there is, remove it and check again. If not then you could repair the phone with PCC but if that doesn't work, you will need to contact your local Xperia Care

nothing blocking whatsoever..will try PCC, thx
okay, repaired done, problem still exists.
Whats weird, if I place the phone (face down) on a black, more or less soft leather couch the vibrating alarm stops...not so on a solid but light brown wooden table?!?
I'm not really getting it....
This seems to be a common issue. I am having it too after the 5.1.1 update. Is there a fix? This is a very serious usability problem -- I've already had deal with several cases of misdialed calls because my face was touching the screen and others where I couldn't hang up the phone because pulling the phone away from my face didn't make the screen come back on.
Any update from Sony support?
Hey, guess what? Right after I posted that I took the latest .200 update, and it sseems to have fixed the proximity sensor issue!
Thanks Sony.
