I have an issue with my Z2, for some reason, when the phone has lost signal, then come back into signal again, it won't allow calls to be received until I make an outgoing call.

This issue only seems to have started over the last few weeks, before that it seemed to be OK. Now I am not sure if it is to do with the last software update that we received, 17.1.2.A.0.314 but the issue seems to be a signal related one.

If I check in the power management setting, under battery usage, and you drop down the graph, you see the signal trace the phone has had. Now in that trace you have different colours, that mean different types of signal the phone has had. Mine always seems to have a large grey section where I have at some point lost signal, but unlike my Z ultra and Z1, it never seems to regain signal, yet the signal meter on the standby screen, shows I have full signal.

If I then try to call my Z2, it goes straight to voice mail, no matter how many times I try it, but if I then make an outgoing call from the Z2, it works fine, and then will receive calls as well.

Often if the phone is then left for along time with out being used, the same happens with incoming calls, but not always had the signal trace turned grey.

I have had a new sim card sent out, I thought at first the issue was connected with the motion feature, but after that was disabled, the phone worked faultlessly for a couple of days, but today, it's back to the same issue again.

If anyone could help with this issue, it would be most appreciated.

That seems to be a network coverage issue.

You would think so, but my Z ultra on the same network, which goes with me the same as the Z2 does, doesn't have this issue. If I switch the Z2 to 3g gsm seeing it seems to work fine. Still testing it on that setting but so far seems to be fine.

If it was a network issue, then surely the Z ultra, would be having the same issues, but it isn't.

Have had a new sim card from my network, have factory reset the handset, still the problem exists.

It is now becoming a real issue with missed calls and texts. Data on the other hand still works with no problem, I am beginning to think it is an issue with the last software update, which is causing issues with the phone and text part of the radio for 4G.
