Xperia Z2 Email Client

Anyone else having a problem with the inbuilt email app? Particularly with Hotmail. It won't sync or send emails but when it does it sends them over 100 times.  I've tried deleting the email account and logging back in but no better. I'm not aware I've updated anything. Any advice? Care to comment Sony? It's not just me, it's happening to a couple of people I've spoken to, across different devices.

Do you experience the same issue if you use the Gmail app with your Hotmail account?

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

This does seem rather odd, have you tried clearing the Email application data first before trying to setup the email account again?

Menu > Settings > Apps > All > Email > Clear Data.

Yes, i've actually heard of this and not only with our email client.

It seems it may happen when using IMAP with Hotmail. Try removing the account and add it as an ActiveSync account instead.

Enter your email address and password, select manual setup, Exchange ActiveSync and then use these settings:

User: your email address

Server: m.hotmail.com

SSL: enabled
