I have purchased my phone out right from T-Mobile by paying out my Jump contract early and OWN MY DEVICE. It is now MY election to root MY PROPERTY. The boot loader is locked and T-Mobile does not have an answer to this problem for gaining root. How do I now UNLOCK MY PROPERTY? Again this is MY PROPERTY and not the property of Sony's or T-Mobile's, I believe at this point there would be a violation of local, state, or federal regulations if I am not given a way to do so. That aside I find it bad business practice on the side of T-Mobile especially since they requested the lock. Sony however is just doing what they asked. I just hope you were prepared for a resolution.........:smileyhappy:
you can NOT unlock your bootloader at all, ever, Sorry, with that said, you can might be able to root your phone, check the XDA forum, as there are ways to unlock other Xperias w/o unlocking the bootloader at all, but since the Z1s its T-mobile exclusive it might be hard to find a method.
Keep in mind that it was T-mobile that requested the bootloader to be locked, and there isn't a way to unlock it
Thank you, I already had and there is no solution as the bootloader kernel apparently runs a scan that a member said removes the SU binaries, or something to that affect (I am paraphrasing on that one). So thank you for your time as well however this unfortunatly resulted in the final decision to buy another phone as I could not even load on a standard Z1 rom to circumvent this issue. I find it unfortunate for Sony that they get the poptential loss of future customers because of carriers. Had the rooting been made any easier then I am sure an XDA member would of had the resolution. As it stands in the future this will remain firmly in the forefront of my mind when purchasing a mobile solution. I know of plenty vendors that rooting is made easier on and will look for rootable devices moving forward. I made the assumption this device would be.
