Xperia Z1 Video record with external microphone

Hello, I have a Xperia Z1 and I want to record videos using a external microphone. I tried a lot of models of microphones, but anyone worked recording video, only audio. Have any model of microphone how works to record video with the Xperia Z1?

I've had a quick search of the forums and can't seem to find anything relating to Z1 for this (sorry if I missed it!), but basically I want to use my Z1 to record live music to help promote various events, but the sound quality in loud environments becomes very distorted, to the point where the videos are essentially useless, despite the excellent picture. The only product I have been able to find is a microphone designed for smart phones from Belkin, designed for iphones. I have tried it with the Xperia Z1 and it has made no discernible difference, and on the iphone it does seem to improve the quality. Obviously this could be because it is product specific.

So my question: does any know of any, or is the z1 even compatible with, external microphones for this type of recording.

It would be a great shame if it did not support this function.

I have used Sony ECM-DS70P with greatly improved result - sadly no Stereo sound input on phone - I'm not shure if this will satisfy your desired quality... (And I have not tested the mic in realy loud conserts)

This microphone works with the Xperia Z1 recording video too? I tried a lot of models of external microphone with my Xperia Z1, but it didn't work with the video Record, only with audio record.
