Xperia Z1 touchsreen not responding

Everything on the phone works but the touchscreen is not responding to touch at all. Everything else is working fine.Cannot backup to the computer as it needs the phone in 'open' mode. Any ideas on what to do.

Sorry to hear about this issue, it is very possible that this could be related to software, unfortunately the only way to resolve such an issue would be via PC Companion and using the software repair option. This would remove all data from the device.

1. Download the PC Companion software from PC Companion and install it on your PC.

2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.

3. Phone Software Update.

4. Start.

5. Repair Phone

6. Continue

7. Accept data removal

8. Next

9. Wait for prepare

10. Select Phone

11. Follow the connection steps

Thanks for getting back to me. I used the PC companion to Repair phone with the sofware update and the phone has reset itself. I turned on the phone as per instructions and it brings up the country choice screen, but the touchscreen is still not working. I'll try repair phone again to see if it works the second time.

That is unfortunate, this may be a hardware issue, I can only suggest getting the handset to a service agent if a software reload does not work.
