I recently upgraded to Android 4.3 using PC Companion. My xperia Z1 kept handing and restarting every 15 minutes. The mobile will freeze, gets hot, and restart. The cycle continued for good two days. I could not use the mobile at all for two days. Then I did a Factory Reset and I saw that the default OS after reset was 4.3. My mobile worked well for one after the upgrade but then today again its behaving the same. It freezes, gets hot, restarts! I can't do anything on it.
Please help!!
The problem is - once this starts happening, my phone becomes unaccessible from the laptop using USB cable!!
Force restart(power button+vol up until the phone vibrates).Try now.
Tried this, spent a couple of hours on factory reset and reloading all the apps, etc. But it seems to have been wasted. The phone worked well for 3-4 hours and now its back to Freezing, Restarting, Heating!
Does Sony have anything official on it? Is there is a way to revert back to 4.2?
Actually,there is:
The problem remains. Unfortunately the Sony customer service is proving the most pathetic of all smartphones. They have simply shrugged off the responsibility because I'm not in India right now! I don't understand how a problem tht's caused because of a faulty upgrade, can't be fixed by a company like Sony!
Deeply disappointed.
china's network always can not link to sony server...about 3 days finally i execute the "repair" successfully, well,i do not know if the problem exits still or not...
I think the random reboot issue lies within a built in Sony app. I updated everything on my phone and I was getting random reboots. I think I read somewhere that it was a rouge android application causing the problem. Did a wipe data factory reset and it's been 3 days now and rebooting issue. Checked in my updates section and sure enough Sony's (Album 5.3.A.022, Info-eye 1.2.04 and Walkman 8.1.A.0.3) were not installed. Everythings been running fine and no problems. I hope this helps.
Vorisk, this solution seems to be working. Been a week since I did that, and the phone has been pretty much alright. Following your advice, I did NOT update those three apps and this seems to be the solution, thanks!!
Not sure that what's the impact of not updating those Sony apps.
