Xperia Z1 really dead this time : not starting or charging

i have updated my z1 to the official lollipo from sony , offcourse my phone is brand new and was perfectly fine , after first boot on lollipop ws great then the battery drained - normally- phone is off , i plugged in wall charger for a couple minutes and the phone was charging i presed power to boot up the device .... it turned off ! ,,,, i removed  charger and put it again .....same issue , suddenly it never came out to live .. not charging ... not booting ....no recovery via flashmode ...

i tried hard reset : power button+ vol-up  .... small OFF button near simcard ..... wall charger ... connect to pc . flasmode .... no lock !

Hi,

Did you let the phone be connected to the charger for a longer time? If the battery is completely flat, it can take a longer time before the phone powers on and/or indicates charging.

But If you have tried all the things that you mention and the phone still wont power on, I suggest that you visit nearest service center to have the phone examined by a technician. You can contact your local support team for further information about nearest service center and/or how to proceed with this in the best possible way:

i think i let it on charger for more than 30 minutes and still nothing . no red light . nothing at all

Then you would do best by visiting nearest service center to have the phone examined by a technician. Contact your local support team and they should be able to give you further information how to proceed with this in the best possible way.

hello and thank you for your advice ..... two houres later i replied the last reply ..... i was on my way to the a service center .... i was checking it again in the service center , [ressing the power button : the red light flashed !!! yay ,,, it means battery is flat : AND device started responding ..... because it wasn't since first happened : i asked him to put it in the wall charger it was charging and two houres later device is alive again and healthy ..... can you please report this problem maybe its kernel bug

Hello there, My Xperia Z1 seems dead. When I connect to the charger a red light flashes and then it goes off. Contacted the service center and they told me that the phone is completely dead. Gave an estimate equivalent to a new Z1S in the market. What I fail to understand and even they could not give me an answer is why a 1.5 year old phone went completly dead. Is this the kind of quality that I get after spending so much. Can you help me understand what could have caused this?

I also updated my xperia Z1 to android 5.02 a couple of  just under a month ago . I immidiately noticed an ingredible battery drain, a battery which to las me a couple of days was now only lasting an hour at the most. I tried re-installing the sofware  but this did not improve matters at all. I contacted xperia support who after a long list of questions asked me to send my phone to their repair centre. Since the phone was still within the warranty period i did not anticipate any problems at all. To my surprise i got an email after  8 days with a quotation of £369 pounds for a replacement. They blamed water damage for the battery issues whch is a blatant lie as the battery was working before the update. I have seen a lot of people with similar issues on different fora and i am disgusted at Sony's behaviour. I have used the xperia devices since their launch and i was planning to get a new one at the end of this year. I have been left with no smart phone and a xperia 3 smart watch which i cannot use because Sony is so cheap that they do not want to fulfil their warranty obligations. They should not wonder why their products have lost market share to the slick samsung products with outstanding award wining customer services. From the way i have treated it will take a very long time before i can consider any sony products. That is why they had to stop making their viao laptop range because they are cluelless when it comes to customer services.  Disgusted former xperia user
