Xperia Z1 - Overheating issue.

Yes sir ! I got another issue with this phone . 3 issues, less one month of use.

My phone is overheating. I mean, really overheating and then turn off automatically.

My local support service told me that dependind of enviornmental conditions this phone can present overheating issues and turns off.

Moreover, they toldme that exists an sony report that recite this overheating issue.

=======================

what am I doing when this happen?

  • 26 degrees of temperature.
  • Not expoosed to the sun (in fact under the shadow).
  • Using: wz, hangout and twitter (in background), and using AirBnb.
  • Wifi connection and LTE network for receiving calls and sms.

The same night I did try to use youtube for see some videos and the cellphones overheat again.

=======================

Things that I did try:

  • Reset cellphones (has installed 5.1.1).
  • Using without any protection  accessory.
  • ->Problem still persist.

================

Here are my questions:

  • What am I doing bad?
  • Does anyone know the enviiormental using specifications for this phone? for example, temperature range and humidity values.
  • Does anybody know more about this issue?
  • Does anybody know abou of the refered sony report for this issue?
  • Did someone solved this problem?

Clearly I'm not satisfied with this phone, even with the tech support offered of my local sony support ¿How can I contact Sony Uruguay directly?

I mean, I like so much this model  and I would not like to change it, but a phone that does not work good in a day with 26 degrees of temperature I understand that is not helpfull..

 thanks for reading and if you got some data I will appreciate it.

Merry Christmans and Happy New Year!

This is my opinion so don't quote me on the following, based on what you've told us on your past post that your local Xperia support charged you to update your phone

I would think their suggestions are rather questionable but lets move on.

It is true that if you are constantly using the phone it will get hot, more so because its summer in your hemisphere.

If you have a lot of apps constantly syncing, uploading, downloading data, the phone will heat up a lot faster, streaming videos will heat it up even faster as you will be using data or wifi and also the screen will remain on, adding that to hot weather.

What if you repair the phone with PCC > do NOT install any app, just test it with youtube, in fact do NOT enter your Gmail account.

software repair

PC Companion (PCC)

Bridge (for Mac)
