Xperia Z1 GPS problem

Hi,

3 weeks ago I bought a Xperia Z1 but the GPS is very poor. It has worked 2-3 times with roughly 25 satellites available but it cant lock on. I have tried most solutions in the forum but it doesnt work. The all the solutions in these threads :

In general you have to be outside with a clear sky, but if I comapre to my previous phone, Samsung Galaxy S3 the gps worked right away. It could be thunderstorms and I'd sit inside, no problem. The issue here must be the phone, and it is not wear and tear as it is brand new. Last night I went top the top of the mountain where I live, 400 meteres above sea level and the gps finally started to work half way into my segment on Strava. It has worked inside once for no apparent reason, I had a fix on 7-8 satellites, I turned off "GPS test" - went outside and started GPS test, 20-25 satellites available, 0 fix. The weather was terrible so I doesnt make sense. I have left "GPS test" on for several hours but 0 fix. Very disappointed in my Z1. I have contacted the shop where I bought it in order to try and get it replaced.

It works with google maps.

Does not work with any 3d party apps; Strava, Endomondo, GPS test etc.

I have to go to either high up a hill/mountain or out to the coast the get it to work.

You should return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care to have your device checked out/inspected http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

I've tried. They want none of it. Only option is is that they can send it for repair, that will set me back another 100$ and they probably wont find any fault as the phone is brand new. I dont recommend buying Z1, it clearly has a fault with gps. 500$ blown on this. Annoyed.

Sent the phone for repair. Will post here if it works. Compared it to a Samsung Galaxy Xcover GT-S5690 before I sent it, which only got about 8 satellites "In view" but a fix on average 5-6 satellites. The Z1 had 0 fix in the same location.
