Xperia Z1 flash issue

Hi, I noticed that my Xperia Z1 photos made using the flash tend to have a white hue in the right side, most of them anyway. And it's not the fact that I'm too close to the subject. In the attached photo everything was at least 1 and a half meters away from me.  Not all pictures turn out like this, but most of them get this white hue.

Any of you experinced this ? Could it be that I have a faulty unit ?

I expected a lot from the z1 but even after it failed to live up to my expectations with the superior auto mode that produces the most noisy photos i've ever seen (my xperia arc was a lot better) and a slight yellow tint to the display, i was pretty **bleep** pleased with the phone. But after seeing that most of the photos that i take in low light with the flash on are pretty much useless because of the total white out on the right (bottom) side, I can feel nothing except what a waste of money it was to buy this phone.

Hi, I had the same issue with my Xperia Z1. I became really disappointed and started to Google for solution. But non worked out. Some said that the problem appears to the phones having white or colored back. I tried out every possible way to fix it. But non helped. I started to hate my phone for this reason. But finally I found a solution to the problem of my phone. The problem was the fingerprints over the flash and the lens. I cleaned the lens and flash with a soft cloth and the problem fixed. The white hue disappeared. Now I can take great pic with my best android camera phone in dark rooms with flash and I love it. Just give it a try and see if the problem fixes

any news regarding this issue ?

I tried black painting the silver ring - no effect

removing the protective film (that cam with the phone) - no effect.

it's not bleeding through the white back cover... cause when I cover the led with my finger, there's no bleeding of light via the white glass/plastic...

so... what the **bleep** is causeing the bleed ? proximity ?

here's an example (right of the image...):

ok.

here's a solution (an ugly one.. but works).

looks like the problem is either that the LED is too close to the lens

or that it's to "high" on the back surface, so that the light reaches the lens directly.

I used a piece of black cable as a barrier between the led and the lens.

works perfectly.
