xperia z1 email

I have an Xperia z1 and use my company email only on it.

I always had old deleted emails at random repeated into the inbox from days and/or weeks ago, but since the recent software upgrade this has stopped and been replaced by phantom notifications. The icon shows incoming mails, but there is no mail. The number of mails in the inbox has risen and now shows 25. I know that the mails are not real as I see the account on my laptop and none are missing.

I have factory reset twice with no solution. They just return as before.

I have deleted and reinstalled the email account too many times to count, but again the whole backlog immediately returns.

My inbox is empty, but shows I have 25 pending.

Please, please ,please help me.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I'm sorry to hear that. Do you experience this on other E-mail accounts as well?

Is it a POP3, IMAP or Exchange account?

It would be great if you could check if your experience this with other accounts as well to see if its only related to this specific setup. Testing with another E-mail application may be an option as well.
