Hi There,
So a couple of days ago for the first time I tried using the camera underwater (one of the main reasons why I bought the phone in the first place). I triple checked that all the flaps where tightly closed. I was under the water for no more than 10 seconds when my phone started malfunctioning, it was pressing all these buttons, opening up apps then eventually it closed down. I'm currently on holiday in the States at the moment so I couldn't go back to my phone shop where I first purchased this, so I went and put the phone in a bag of rice hoping something would happen.
2 days later I checked on my phone and it had turned on! There was visible water damage on the phone screen, the camera eventually started working etc the only thing that didn't work was the power up button (It seems somehow to turn on the phone you need to press the volume up button on it's own).
Anyway I took photos of my holiday thinking it was functional again until the phone started turning on and off constantly until it never turned on at all. I charged it all night thinking it just ran out of battery, however it doesn't seem as if it's charging at all, the red light flashes every now and again but thats about it. I've tried reseting the phone with the red button at the side, powering it up (even though my power up button doesn't work). I don't know what to do! My phone should still be in warranty as I only purchased it about 4 months ago, is there anything I could do to try get it back on myself as it has all my holiday photos 😞
Let me know,
Emma x
Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
I'm sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, if you have tried these things and the phone still won't power on, it sounds like your phone is completely dead. I suggest that you visit nearest service center to have your phone examined by a technician. You can contact your local support team for further information about nearest service center and/or how to proceed with this in the best possible way:

Hi,
Normally it's not possible to retrieve any photos but I would suggest that you raise this questions to your local Xperia support team since the service is handled locally.
