xperia z1 compact MMS problems

Hi, i bought a xperia z1 compact unlocked and am in canada. I cannot send/recieve picture or video messages over text, and i have that allowed on my contract and data is unblocked. I went to my provider and they started to set it up but ran into a problem, when try to set up an APN there is a area that says "APN enable/disable" with a box that is checked off but the box is greyed out and connot be changed, and my provider said that that was the problem with not being able to send/recieve pictures or videos over text. Please help how to i fix it so that i am able to.

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

With the information provided, I suggest that you try the following.

Menu > Settings > More > Internet Settings > Accept Disclaimer > Choose network.

Once the settings have downloaded, try sending yourself an MMS.

Let us know how you get on.

I tried what you said but when i go to Internet Settings i accept the disclaimer but nothing happens after that....it just goes back to the page before "Wireless & networks"

Do you get an arrow pointing downwards within the status bar on the top left hand side?

If not, try turning the handset off, removing the SIM card for 30 seconds and then re inserting, then follow the process again.

Hi, i do not get an arrow in the status bar. And i tried doing what you said, but still the same result, nothing happens when i push accept on the disclaimer.

Then in this case, I can only suggest that you try another SIM card, if this works with another SIM then we can clarify that your current one is no longer going to function with this device correctly.

Alternatively, you could try performing a backup of data and then performing a Factory Data Reset. To backup the data see the link below.

Backup & Restore

To perform a Factory Data Reset do the following.

Menu > Settings > Backup & Reset > Factory Data Reset > Untick the remove internal storage box > Press Reset.

Once this has been done try testing it out and let us know the results.

So i tried getting a new SIM card which didnt work, and i also did a factory reset and still doesnt work....what else can i do?

Hello,

I'm having the same issue the only difference is that my phone does show the arrow/download icon and it says that it's been installed. I sent an MMs to myself and it failed. I then removed my sim card and restarted and it still does not work. Please let me know what else can I do.

disable wifi and enable mobile data. worked for me! I'm in the U.S.
