14.1.G.2.257 Firmware rolled out on Xperia Z1 - MAJOR UPDATE

Improves Camera, Display Calibration, Power Consumption, Automatic Reboot issue, Wi-Fi range improves, Optimized Backlight option is ON everytime.

Confirmed on both C6902/3.

Confirmed in Veitnam, France.

1. Camera Algorithm Tweaked – Batter Camera Pics now as per Sony’s statement.
2. Xperia Camera app runs more smoothly.
3. Display is calibrated, need to see whether yellow hue tint issue on Xperia Z1 is resolved or not.
4. Batter power consumption now.
5. Exchange sync more better now.

[ UPDATE 18 Oct ] 14.1.G.2.257 firmware CONFIRMED in India on C6902.

If you haven't got it yetm you can update manually by flashing the ftf files.

Does this update have to be checked by the mobile company?  EE/T-Mobile UK are notorious for taking a very long time with firmware updates and i fear the slowness to act will result in a tainting of Sony's flagship phone.

Virtually all firmware updates do need to be vetted by the various network providers before they are rolled out by my understanding sorry.

After 6 days still no update in Italy for my C6903 Lte Sim free.

Checked today, nothing on mine yet for O2 customer UK. As I have highlighted in another section I am really hoping this update will correct issues with the auto mode for the camera. Presently I am very dissapointed with the quality of the camera in auto mode and if this update sees no improvement then sadly I will start to look elsewhere.

Thanks for the reply could you arrange for some pressure to be placed on EE and alike as they are causing brand damage to Sony and the Z1.  

I was very close to swaping to a HTC device due to the sleep of death issue, however i understand theres a fix in the latest update.

While i understand you may be limited to do anything something needs to be escalated as the carriers are making you look very very bad.

Factory unlocked z1's in india got the update 2 days ago via the sony computer software. The OTA is yet to be released.

The carriers do not have this update sent out yet and might take a few months for them to roll that out.
