Xperia z water damaged

My ports were closed and everything was perfect bt I went to rain for just 5 mins and it was very light but when I lighted my phone up the water went inside and when I visited service centre they said we'll not repair and for replacement pay 80% that means 32000 at least
WTF man is it really a water resistant, and if u dnt cover it under waranty then at least should've told at the time of purchase
Now at least tell how to dry it off and turn the pink indicator to white

My z1 is damaged by water and sony claims it too be a waterproof fone I dont understand wat kind of water proof it is. When I went to service center for complain as my fone was under accidental warranty they told me that it is damaged by water and I will jus get a percentage of the price wat kind of warranty it is. Its kind of fooling consumer arround. I am regretting dat I went for sony..

Same issue here, they don't even bother to fix it.

My case is even funnier, I only have this phone for 3 weeks. I wasn't even put the phone totally in the water, it was rain pretty hard, I got out of rain in 5 mins.I checked my indicator paper is white, which proved that the cap was closed, they took a picture that the parts inside were oxidized and said it's my fault. so just because water got in a so called waterproof phone, my phone is out of warrenty after 3 weeks, that's totally a fraud.

No one should buy anything from this company, who cares nothing about their customers.

Beeing happy to own a waterproof phone I willingly showed my frinds that I could rinse it under water. After some time, It proved not to be so water proof. I noticed that the backpanel had lifted it self from the frame in the upper left corner. Not much, but enough to UNwater proof. I returned it and got a new one.

Had the new one for 10 days and during a warm summerday, i noticed that the upper left corner seemed slightly higher than the other corners. My wife, having a slightly better humor than me, quickly said "but they say it's water proof" and put it in water. It wasn't water proof. Again i send it to the shop, but this time they claim it was water proof. Apparently they test it in some sort of pressure chamber to see if it is water proof, but they dont do it at the temperature of a warm summerday, and I know that the temperature has a large impact on the abillity of the adhesive to stick.

The different markers on the closures hadn't even changed color, so all the closures were proven closed, but they still claim it to waterproof. Nice one SONY , so where did the water come from ????

The wife still owes me a new phone.

I took some photos underwater and my waterproof phone died within a few minutes. I followed manifacturers advice and sent the phone to Sony. Needed to speak to 5 different agents and wait for more than 2 months to be told that I've to pay 100% of a new sony because it was my fault (I'm a 30 y old professional surgeon and I wouldn't mind to spend money for a new headset). Just to mention though, that I used the phone with the sideports closed in a pool for less than 30' and in less than 1m depth. However the lack of communication, the very delayed replay and of course the obvious fraud about the 'waterproof' phone made me upset. The last agent told me about 'physical damage' and was the very first one to mention anything like this when clearly there was nothing like that

The certificate they advertise and the waranty they provide is a true disrispect to customers. Was buying sony products for more than 15 years now, very happy with quality. Time to switch to a different company though and never look back

So i have owned my xperia z3 for about 48 hours and its about to be sent back to be repaired. I, rather smugly was about to show my wife and kids how my "cool new phone" could be dunked into a dish of tapwater. i was about to be shocked because immediately after taking it out of the water the screen went blank and hasnt come on yet. the phone is still alive in there because it will take photos and makes a chirp from the volume buttons. it will be assessed but i fully expect them to say i didnt close the flaps, like yeah im going to put my new $800 phone into water without triple checking that... im really annoyed that after making these phones for this amount of time that they (A) havent got the waterproofing right yet and(B) continue to sell these phone as waterproof, after the seemingly endless stories of people who have been sheisted by these criminals! they cant keep getting away with it!
