Xperia z water damaged

My ports were closed and everything was perfect bt I went to rain for just 5 mins and it was very light but when I lighted my phone up the water went inside and when I visited service centre they said we'll not repair and for replacement pay 80% that means 32000 at least
WTF man is it really a water resistant,and if u dnt cover it under waranty then at least should've told at the time of purchase
Now at least tell how to dry it off and turn the pink indicator to white

im facing the same problem , i washed my Z for 10 seconds only and all ports were closed and it stopped working.

ive sent it to phones4u repair centre and they refused to repair it because its water damaged !!

im sending it to Sony and will see what happens

Mine too,, when me and my friend decided to go swimming, I use my xperia z to capture photos under water, but within 2 minutes or 3, it just turned off and it won't turn on again, when i check the flaps it is properly seal/closed but the white thing in my flaps became red, which means that water went inside my phone, do you think it can still be fixed? pls reply,,, that phone is expensive and it's a waste of money if it cant be fix anymore..

My phone has been water damaged even thoughall ports are closed my headset flap the indicator has gone pink my charging port has gone pink bit of red my micro sd card slot that indicator is all white and my sim card flap has gone red
All my phone works except the backlight of.the lcd and i can see all this steam and water and when i swipe phone sceeen i can see smudges in screen
But wat i dont get is that all ports closed all of them have gone red or pink except my micro sd card slot which is still all white

My xperia z works perfectly fine
Except the indicators within the phone have gone red and pink even though all flaps are tightly SECURED and my headset indicator has gone pink my charging port has gone red but phone still charges and my sim slot indicator has gone red this is wierd my micro ad card slot indicator is still white not even a mark of pink or red indicator every other indicator in the phone is red or pink except the micro sd card slot and my phones backlight has gone but i can still use phone but all my screen has gone like a Sepia effect negative screen everytime i swipe the screen i see smudges throughout the screen
What can i do?

SONY you are a failure.. I was a SONy follower for years and suddnely my perception changed when my new xperia Z faced a voice issue. I was unable to hear when a person called. This issues occurs frequently. I visit the service station and they tell me your warrenty is viod because the litmus paper over the headphone jack is red. WTH!!!.. I have no idea how did it turn red when there was no water contact, and even if there was an accidental contact as the flap remains open being an headphone jack.. a drop of water to VOID a warrenty of a so called Water proof phone.. The art of making fool of people shud be tag line of SONY.

I have had the same problem. 

All the ports where firmly closed. Phone was in it's cover too. By accident I drop it into a pool, not even two seconds in the pool and the "water resistant" Sony Xperia Z stopped working. 

The reason for me purchasing  this phone was for it's "water resistant" capablities. 

I have become mislead by Sony on the what their products claim to offer, to the extent that i will not puchase any more products from them. 

I am also contemplating taking this issue up with standards board here in South Africa.
