Xperia Z vibration not working?

Hello,

I have pre-ordered my Xperia Z from http://www.clove.co.uk/ and when I received it the first thing I checked is the vibration and it seems that vibration isn't working at all ( for me ) I contacted Clove Technology and they told me to try to Factory Reset but that didnt help so they told me to send it to them and they will give me a new one, but im wondering if im the only one with the problm.

and is there a fix? it's gonna take about a week to get the new Xperia Z...

I got my Xperia Z yesterday.. As soon as I switched it on, I didnt feel the vibration like I used to get in my Arc. I thought it might be a new thing in XZ that while charger in ON, we dont get vibration (Like that of Nokia) And I contiued like that.. I checked the smoothness and feel of the handset. I was pretty happy and then I got a call and cell didnt vibrate.. I was scared.. After call, I checked the settings, the vibrations were ON, I tried everything but couldnt switch on the vibration. To confirm, I went to the service menu (*#*#7378423#*#*) and checked and didnt get any vibration there too.. I submitted the handset to service center today and asked them to replace it. They were like, ok, we'll check and let you know.. Pleaseeee.. I have been playing with sony/Android software from last 1.5 yrs and I know it. Its not a software bug for sure and I dont want my handset to be repaired.. I want a replacement as the handset is not even 1 day old..

I have noticed that I'm not the only one with that problem!

there is an article on XDA Forums as well. and the solution seems to be is just waiting for 2 days and the vibration will work, and that's what happened to me! it started working suddenly and now it's working like a charm!

But mate, its not at all acceptable. When u r paying such a high price and then also need to compromise on so many points, its not at all acceptable.. and Sony needs to something about this.. ASAP..

Sony needs to do some things to Xperia Z same as fixing the "not LED notification when you turn STAMINA MODE on" and the colors calibration and these things.

had the exact same problem, bought phone, charge it overnight and was so eexcited, set it up and found out battery became 20% in 3 hours under light usage, can yoh imagine!? Noticed vibration not working so I was mad, this shit is unacceptable and needs to be repaired, just send it for repair as soon as possible, I told them mine was not even a week old and after 4 ddays of torturous wait, I got a new set. It's the longest wait in my life. I would cry, not even kidding.

I just realise my Xperia Z have the same problem with you,it not vibrate at all,hope it was not a hardware problem

It is indeed a hardware issue my frnd.. Goto Service center ASAP and ask them for replacement.. If you go after 7 days from the date of purchase... They wont replace it.. so hurry up..!

I want to ask you what happened to your phone ?? I just recieved mine and i'm facing the problem ?? and I don't have any sony support in my country ?? do think the vibration will working again after some period ???

the vibrator of my Xperia z seems to be occasionally working.

if i am continuously using it for quite a while (until it's quite "warm"), or if the phone had been vibrating for a while (I was sorting the apps drawer, so everytime i hold-press an icon, the phone vibrated),  then the vibrator would stop working. (tested in Service test, press volume down button until it shows vibration icon, turning on and off the phone)

however, if I leave the phone there until it cools down (not using it), the vibrator would work again suddenly.

Is this a power saving scheme?  lol   or the damping of the vibrator needs restoring?

I don't know if I should send it to repair....
