Hi all new here
I have a Z which had a smashed screen, I replaced the whole LCD and after replacing the screen the microphone fails to work.
I can hear callers , but I can also hear my own voice echoing through the earpiece and they can't hear me on the other end.
The flex cable that the microphone is attached to is also the same flex that handles the power/volume buttons.
I thought I had maybe damaged this when replacing the screen but I have fitted a new microphone flex cable and the problem still percists.
I tried repairing the phone through Sony's PC companion but no change.
I rolled back the firmware from 4.4 to 4.3 last night but the problem is still there.
I'll try 4.2 in a minute and see if that changes anything but I'm not hopefull.
Has anyone else faced the same problem after replacing the LCD?
Update :
Rolled back the firmware to 4.2.2 , still no change
I have the same problem and no idea how to fix it. Anyone know how to do this?
I have the same issue. Did you ever fin an answer?
I changed my smashed screen too, with no problem, one day after (i made some phone calls after the replacement was done, with no problems), and the microphone stopped working (i can only hear some kinf of static noise when i try to record something or sending a sound msg on whatsapp)
Did anyone find the solutions for this issue?
Is this sony's way of ripping us off?
im hearing this problem everywhere.
I got my sony z3 for $900+ brand new and only got to use it for a month.
overheating caused my screen to be extra brittle! it smashed and when I got it back from repairs! I had no microphone.
i can't talk unless on speaker, which isn't what I thought $900 would get in value.
SONY LOOK AFTER YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS. IVE BEEN A FAN SINCE THE WALKMAN, THE DISCMAN, MOBILE PHONES AND YOUR NOW EXTINCT LAP-TOPS.
HOW DO WE REMEDY THIS PROBLEM, WITHOUT COSTING ANOTHER $300+?
will always love you deep down, but will be loosening the bond, if I don't get an answer that is going to help...
please
