I know that I really shouldn't make a new discussion for this but last night my phone ran out of battery and powered down like normal. I went to plug it in and there was no LED light to show it was charging, so I came to the forum and the Xperia Care which said leave it charging for 30mins+ so I did and nothing. Tried charging with a different cable and viamy computer and nothing. It shows absoloutly no sign of life. I have tried:
And it's still doing nothing. No LED. No light. No vibration. Nothing.
I've tried to read up on the 'Sleep of Death' but information was a bit all over the place. I also noticed a thread about not charging whilst switched off however it didn't say much about what to do if it was flat before finding this out.. I don't think I was on the latest update as it wasn't available ("your phone is already up to date") when I tried and so I assumed it had yet to be rolled out to my area and this was only a few days ago.
Is there anything else I can try? What do I do now? Back to Three or Sony? 'Cos I can't afford to have it fixed
I certainly don't want a used/referbished one to replace it
Anyone? Any other soloutions?
first thing to check, open every flap and see if the little white rectangle is still white or if its pink or red.
I don't know if you've done this
connect your phone to the "wall charger" then press and hold power & volume up for 10seconds let it charge for 1 hour then try to turn it back on.
Thanks for replying, all the strips are white (I assume showing no water damage) and thanks but I have tried that.. Anything else you can think of?
that's quite odd, are you using the wall charger not the dock correct? and you are using Sony's charger not any other charger?
Yeah, I've been using the stock charger other than to test that the charger/cable was not the problem
sadly the only solution/option left is to take it to a Sony repair center.
Thanks, do you know if the repair will be done under warranty? Or will I have to pay?
I don't know but it seems that this should be covered as you haven't dropped the phone.
Have you tried repairing it via update service? You can repair it even if the phone is switched off
