Xperia Z CE 0682 Power button does not work to take out of sleep mode

I love this phone but in the past 2 weeks it started with the SD card was unexpectly removed and now the power button will not take it out of sleep mode. For about a day if I plugged it in to charge it would unlock the screen. But that lasted for a day. I have to take the SIM card out to restart the phone and make it come on. As soon as the sleep mode kicks in, it does it again. The power button will not bring the swipe screen back up. It is just a black acreen but the phone is working. Calls come in but I can't see who it is. Sometimes the power button will work but only for a short bit. Please help!!

That's a hardware issue, you have two options, either contact your Local support or DIY, the later will void the warranty but it'll be cheaper.

How do I do it myself? I would love to get it fixed. It is not under warranty any longer.

It's quite simple to disassemble the phone, so you can check how extended the damage is, perhaps you only have to replace the power button.
