Xperia Z camera superior auto problems

I´ve just looked up some info about the xperia z and superior auto...

I tried to take a photo now and it´s about 11 pm at night and the camera wanna use backlight hdr setting but the problem is that it´s cloudy and no sunlight!! Sure they´re is some light comeing through the clouds but not enough the really activate the backligh hdr setting in my opinion.. Why does it act in this way?? Aren´t the backlight hdr setting supposed the be activated when there are strong sunlight infront of the camera itself?

I don´t belive that the superior auto works propperly either, i get´s the motives wrong most of the time and how many presets does it have really? I know that on the cyber-shot cameras it has 33 presets but on the xperia z there seems to be less to choose from and from what i´ve been reading it seems that Intelligent auto is the better one and some perfer it over superior auto mode.. But what do i know.. But if this is the case then Sony should look over the algorythmems on the superior auto settings for the xperia z..

Can somebody here on the forum please give me some good answer?

why don't you try the manual settings? the outcome will be a lot better than superior auto

I´m not that good of a photagrapher so thats why i use superior auto.. But i really think that sony needs to improve the algorythm of the superior auto setting because most of the time it flips out from chooseing the correct settings.. I would love to be able to use the normal mode if i knew how to use the right setting for each motive and so on..

if we had a camera shutter like the Xperia S or ZR or ZL it will be a lot easier to take amazing pictures as you can half press the key on a dark area and while still holding the key move it to the area were the object is and voila an amazing picture, since we don't have this it will be wise to set it on manual and change focus mode, exposure value, white balance as needed

Yeah i really miss the shutter button from the XS but the onscreen button ain´t that bad but i agree with you on that.

I need alot more practice on manual mode but i ain´t that familiour with all the setting like metering and so on.. ISO i can handle but the exposure is tricky for me..

Just checked those sites and i rather stay with superior auto for now.. But i´m gonna try the manual mode later on.. But i still hope sony can take a look at the camera algorythms and see what they can improve or not because the camera of xperia z can be so much more..
