Xperia Z back plate raised

I noticed it this morning: the back plate in the camera lens corner has started lifting away from the unit. It hasn't taken any water damage and the closest it has been to water is sitting on the edge of the sink when I have a shower. Are there any solutions for restickying the adhesive? or will i need to take it for repair?

Thanks heaps,

M

I recommend you to contact your local support for further information regarding long service time:

It was the service shop that returned the phone to the wrong adress where it sat for two weeks before it was returned for to the service shop.

I guess I might buy a sony tv soon, something similar should not happen to me again.

Same case here but I cannot afford to be 2 months waiting for a repair on this, so I keep pressing it down.

After it was almost 2 months I was so tired with the thread including:

-making phone calls
-e-mails
-loosing time for going to the carrier
-Sony service mistakes (they stated that it was a manufacturer defect and decided to give me a replacement, after that deicded not to give me replacement, in the end to give me replacement...)

that I was about to go to the court finally when SUDDENLY my replacement appeared... and after a while I realized that vibration is not working in replacement and send it back again

HORRIBLE, really horrible but I am glad it is behind me...  😕

I have the same problem, I was told by sony that the plate lifting is physical damage and voids the warranty.  At least they replaced yours, I'm still arguing with them about it.  It definitely affects the water resistance, I was unaware of the lift until water had done permanent damage to my phone.  Sony is also stating that any water damage voids the warranty, even if the reason there was water damage in the first place is due to the failure of the back plate.

Same Problem here in Germany.

It seems like the same thing is happening to my Xperia Z, too. Back plate is not lifted that much, top left corner is still in place, but I can see it bulged up a bit near the power button. What's sad is that I bought this phone less than a month ago. I'm not a heavy gamer, device wasn't generating excesive heat.

I'm from Serbia, so it will be a real adventure to find a good service center to fix this, if the problem gets more serious.
