Five months ago I bought an xperia Z C6603 (international version) through amazon while I was in the US. A few days ago I started to notice that the pictures I was taking that required flash were all blurry and I thought it was because of a dirty lens. After I cleaned the lens, I noticed that it was still dirty, until I realized that the dirt was from the inside of the back cover of a phone that was supposed to be water resistant and dust proof!
I realized that the dust had been entering through one of the ports, but then I noticed that the glue of the back cover wasn't holding it in place on one of the corners. I then took a look under the back cover and noticed a screw that was completely out of position and it was pushing the back cover outwards. I then took the screw out, but the glue isn’t holding the back cover as it is supposed to do so and now the phone instead of being dust proof, has a large opening for the dust to come inside the phone. It surely is a manufacturer defect, but where should I take the phone for the warranty… To the US (where I bought the phone), to Australia (where this model is sold) or to Chile (where I live)?
Neither Chile nor the US but Australia, if the phone was released here in the US then send it to Sony US repair center if its originally from Australia then Australia
If you need to get it back to Australia for repair, you can contact the repair agent there (Fonebiz +61295978900) and they can provide you the details to get it sent to them directly.
