Xperia Z 10.3.1.A.0.244 = good!

Hello Sony,
recently I updated my phone to the newest version,
here is my opinion :

1. PERFORMANCE UPGRADE
- pane to pane animations are now smooth like on Android 4.1 ver .253 = very good!

- stock web browser scrolling (Chrome) is now smooth like a charm!
- "tools" widget is now smooth, before on 4.2.2 it was stuttering, now the problem is fixed
- Album app = when I am viewing a picture in a full screen mode and switching the pictures it is smooth like a charm + I really like the animation
when viewing a gallery and scrolling (a lot of pictures) it is not that smooth but still better than before (I believe it may be corrected in near future).

- Socialife scrolling is not smooth even if I changed available memory in options for this app to 100MB (need to be fixed).
- settings menu scrolling is better but not like a charm, but again, a little bit better than before
- seems that game performance is also better but didn't have much time to test it

2. SCREEN
- I don't know what did you do to the screen or it is my eyes only but the screen looks MUCH MUCH BETTER! Contrast ratio seems increased and everything is so crisp and clear! And the colors seems better now 

3. LOCKSCREEN WIDGETS
- still missing Walkman to choose.
- if I will select the camera it will launch, but again if I will switch to another that superior mode, the app will close itself, it is not fixed.

4. CAMERA
- camera quality seems to be improved in dark conditions

- camera launches faster

I will update the thread as only I will get some more conclusions.
Overall I would like to say THANK YOU! Sony for this update, If you will continue to bring us such updates I will no longer consider switching to HTC.
Guys, and what is your opinion after this update? Feel free to spread the word.

I have moved from the iphone 5 to the Sony Xperia z as per features , waterproof which is ideal , but to be honest i have not found much to be impressed with from iphone to xperia z , I made the switch in August 2013 and now to be told that xperia z1 is being relased has peed me of a bit as better spec and colours , Think Sony should give there customer's  a loyalty exchange  to the xperia z1 if they have purchased the phone in the last 2 months .  Think that they need to release updates more quickly and do bigger changes to the user interface and that and if they want to try to compete with apple they nned to step up there game and do major updates than minor ones , we need to see update to Android Vanilla on this model and move to android 4.5 which is the major update with lots of changes to system and user interface ,

will never go back to apple .

Hello Sony

I have had your phone (Xperia Z) since May now. It is a great phone with some impeccable features but it is not perfect. For the price and competition around I did expect much more from it.

I have had the "sudden death" issue a few times now. Namely TODAY after completing this upgrade. Now in order to "repair" the issue it is telling me I will lose my contacts, messages, photos, videos, and settings. This has annoyed me beyond belief.

Had I known I would have such a nightmare updating my phone I would not have bothered. 

I have attempted to reset the phone, even have clicked on accept to delete all my data yet still it will not accept or register any issues at all. The phone will simply not switch on. I even held down the start and vol down key, as well as the start+vol down+vol up as per a different post I seen on an alternative forum. Nothing avails.

When connecting the phone with the usb cable to my laptop it gives me the sound notification that something has connected but nothing further.

I have posted this to A - vent my frustration, and B - hopefully get a useful solution to my problem. 

Any suggestions????

Sorry to hear that you're having problems.

Try holding on/off and vol+ at the same time for 10 seconds and then see if you can start the phone. If not, try letting it charge over night using the charger that came with the phone. If you still don't get any reaction from the phone i would recommend that you contact a service location or local Sony Xperia support (http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/) for assistance.

It hasn't worked. I will wait until tomorrow but this is so unfair! ~:( 😕
