Xperia X10 problems summary

I would like to share my experience with Xperia X10.

Phone data: X10i, Android 2.3.3, Base band ver. 2.1.71, Build Nr. 3.0.1.G.0.75

Before purchasing of this phone I was waiting before for Xperia Arc, but I got this expensive phone accidentally as present fro may family, after loosing my iPhone 3.

Executive summary: Worst phone I have ever tried, practically my second and last phone from Sony (Sony Ericsson). I have to say this phone is incomparable even to older versions of iPhone 3, which was working properly, faster and reliable comparing to Xperia X10. Producer should be warning customers about weak functionality of this product. “bad copy of the great idea”

Here are few problems regularly occurring:

- battery life too short, phone randomly switches off even battery is not fully discharged
   tried: battery changed by new original one, the same issue...

- loosing network signal, need all the time enter PIN code for SIM card, thi is pretty bad, especially if you are excepting phone call, but afterwards you even miss that you are not connected to gsm network.

- touch screen not working properly, especially at bottom screen location. Imagine would like to cancel call and you can't. This is pretty confusing

- proximity sensor not working properly, sometimes you start applications during your call, not reliable at all.

- MMS does not work, already solving the issue with O2, not successful, or you have internet connection or MMS, not both available the same time. Even 7 years nokia, my kids are playing with is working without issues.

- e-mail client works strange especially, during regular checking e-mails

-wifi sometimes does not start even you are right meter away from router, need to start from set-up

- weak windows SW and backup utility, once installed. After update of Android to newer version (by the way after updating all content lost), company did not provided appropriate information for customers what to use, only that your data will be lost and you can not use sonny Ericsson backup utility because of incompatibility of newer version. After update to newer Android, PC SW get not working again. There are nice free SW like My phone explorer, looks no deal with smart solutions

My X10i is a great phone.....the best one Ive ever had.I had all the Nokias,from 3210 to 8310 and thought Id never switch.

Now,in defence of Sony(not that I work there or anything)-DID you send your phone for repair,was it repaired,or did you get mucked about by Customer Service.

I once had a Motorolla phone and it went faulty.A guy came to the door to collect it,and it was returned 2 days later....fixed.

So what exactly are you complaining about,is it that you expect nothing to ever go faulty........

I’m sorry to hear about your experience, however most of these problems should have been able to be resolved with a software update and possible a SIM replacement. Did you try either of these?

Hello Sam,

All SW updated according to recommendations.

SIM changed additionally changed operator,nothing improved.

Still the same issues, After today bad experience I am going to reply directly to your support.

I have talked to other guys, they are facing to similar problems, may be theey catch bad batch of products? Who knows. If you can arange RMA and replace I can try another one, maybe I am wrong, but do not believe...
